The Village President and Board of Trustees are elected officials serving staggering 4-year terms. Municipal officials in Lake Barrington are elected during the Consolidated Election in April with years ending in odd number (i.e. 2011, 2013, etc.). In accordance with election guidelines, if a vacancy is created within the first two years of a term and prior to the next filing period, then the vacant seat shall appear on the next Consolidated Election ballot.

The Board of Trustees meets regularly once a month, typically on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Regular meetings are aired on Comcast’s public access channel 4 on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Click here to view minutes or agendas. The 2013 Board Meeting Schedule reflects some changes to the regular schedule and can be viewed under the link to Agendas.
Appointed Officials

The Plan Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Ethics Commission members are appointed by the Village President with concurrence by the Board of Trustees.
Plan Commission: Chair plus 6 Commissioners, meets typically on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 7:OO PM at Village Hall.

The Village Administrator is responsible for the preparing reports and recommendations to the Board, implementation of Board policies and decisions, and for managing the day-to-day business of the Village and its personnel.

The Village Clerk is primarily responsible for taking meeting minutes, maintaining Village records and databases, issuing licenses, voter registration, processing Freedom of Information requests, planning and zoning point of information, overseeing the website, newsletter, and other special projects.

The Village Treasurer is a part-time position which oversees the financial issues concerning the Village as recommended by the Villages auditors. Please contact the Village Accountant with any questions pertaining to the Village Treasurer.

The Accountant position includes the following job responsibilities, among others; prepares journal entries, maintains general ledger accounts and reconciles bank statements. Provides guidance and creative solutions to finance and related issues. 

Administrative Assistant/Building Permit Coordinator Erica Rezula erezula@lakebarrington.org
This position answers the phone and greets the public, coordinates building permits, issues contractor licenses, processes JULIE requests, maintains the resident directory, and assists staff and officials with other projects as required.
