School's out for summer! You are encouraged to get the kids outside in nature. The Chicago Wilderness alliance, of which Lake Barrington is a member, created its Leave No Child Inside Initiative that "promotes a culture in which children enjoy and are encouraged to be outside in nature, and as a result are healthier, have a sense of connection to their place, and become supporters and stewards of local nature.

The mission of the LNCI Consortium is to foster family and community awareness and support for getting children outside and into the natural world.
