Roads, Ditches, Culverts, Snow, Ice, Trees, Etc. The Village contracts with the Cuba Township Road District for most of its public works functions including street and road ditch repair and maintenance, snow plowing and salting, sign repairs and replacements some tree trimming and other projects as needed. The Township also assists the Village in project management for major road projects such as repaving and resurfacing work. The Village also uses several consultants for engineering, major tree timing and plantings and other work as necessary.
Public Right-of-Ways There shall be no obstructions in the Village's right-of-way, including but not limited to boulders, rocks, and other materials/structures that may impede safety or drainage. Invisible dog fences and irrigation sprinkler lines are not allowed in the right-of-way. The Village is not responsible for these items if they are damaged during typical maintenance and repair operations such as snow plowing and road and ditch repairs. Please see the mailbox ordinance additional restrictions pertaining to mailboxes. The Village reserves the right to immediately remove any obstruction located within a Village right-of-way. Please be advised that the Village has an Ordinance that prohibits depositing of soil, aggregate, mud, dirt, dust, snow, debris and/or any other substance on Village roadways. Mosquito Control The Village of Lake Barrington contracts out each year for mosquito abatement programs. Trapping devices are set to count the existing mosquito population. This data is used to determine when the contractor sprays. Treatments include adulticide, larvicide (paid by LakeBarrington for WaucondaTownship portions of the Village and by CubaTownship for their residents), and pellets for stormwater catch basins. Please contact Clarke Mosquitoat (800) 942-2555 if you have any questions relative to treatment schedules or to be put on a pre-notification list (typically for those with medical issues). Well and Septic Evaluations The Health Department (LCHD) offers the service of performing well and septic evaluations at existing properties. These services are most often requested when a property transaction (either a sale or a refinancing) is taking place, and in many cases is required by a lender and/or buyer. A fee for this service is charged, contact Lake County Health Department.
LEGAL NOTICENOTICE OF RESOLUTION NO. 2011-R-15 PREVAILING WAGE RATES
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lake Barrington, pursuant to “An Act regulating wages of laborers, mechanics and other workers employed in any public works by the State, county, city, or any public body or any political subdivision or by anyone under contract for public works”, approved on June 26, 1941, as amended (820 ILCS 130/0.01, et seq., hereinafter “the Act”), has determined on, and as effective from June 1, 2011 that the general prevailing rate of wages in this locality for laborers, mechanics, and other workers engaged in the construction of public works coming under the jurisdiction of the Village of Lake Barrington is the same as determined by the Department of Labor of the State of Illinois for Lake County as of June 2011.
A copy of the full Resolution and the Department of Labor determination is available for inspection by any interested parties in the main office of the Village of Lake Barrington, and to any employer or association of employers and any person or association of employees who have filed, or file their names and addresses, requesting copies of the same.

Storm Water Management Program (SWMP) The Storm Water Management Program (SWMP) was developed by Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. in coordination with the Village for the purpose of meeting the minimum standards required by the USEPA under the NPDES Phase II program. The SWMP describes the procedures and practices implemented by the Village to effectively reduce the discharge of pollutants within storm water runoff and comply with Federal standards.
